We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what personal data Hunting Master collects, why we collect it, and what your rights are under UK law.

Hunting Master is a UK-based brand selling prey-inspired cat wand toys. For the purposes of UK data protection law, Hunting Master is the data controller responsible for your personal data.

02What we collect

We only collect personal data that is necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

Information you give us directly

  • Account and order information: name, email address, delivery address, billing address, phone number, and payment details when you place an order.
  • Contact and communication data: the contents of messages you send us via our contact form or by email, including any personal information you choose to include.
  • Marketing preferences: whether you have opted in to receive marketing emails from us.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data: pages you visit on our website, time spent on pages, links clicked, and similar browsing behaviour, collected via cookies and analytics tools.
  • Device and technical data: your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, and device type.
  • Transaction data: details of purchases you have made, including products, amounts, and dates.

We do not collect or store payment card details directly. All payment processing is handled by our payment provider (Stripe / Shopify Payments), which is PCI DSS compliant.

05Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with trusted third parties who help us provide our services, under strict data processing agreements:

  • Shopify Inc.: our e-commerce platform and data processor. Shopify stores order and customer data on our behalf. See Shopify's Privacy Policy.
  • Stripe / Shopify Payments: payment processing. We share only what is necessary to process your payment securely.
  • Delivery partners: your name and delivery address are shared with our courier to fulfil your order.
  • Klaviyo: email marketing platform, used only where you have opted in to marketing communications.
  • Google Analytics: website analytics. Data is anonymised and aggregated where possible.

We may also disclose your data where required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights.

06How long we keep your data

  • Order and transaction records: 7 years, as required by HMRC regulations.
  • Customer account data: for as long as your account is active, plus 2 years after your last interaction with us.
  • Marketing data: until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
  • Contact and support enquiries: 2 years from the date of resolution.
  • Analytics data: as per Google Analytics default retention settings (14 months).

When data is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymise it.

07Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:

  • Right of access: you can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification: you can ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Right to erasure: you can ask us to delete your data where there is no compelling reason for us to continue processing it.
  • Right to restrict processing: you can ask us to pause processing of your data in certain circumstances.
  • Right to data portability: you can request a copy of your data in a structured, commonly used format.
  • Right to object: you can object to processing based on legitimate interests, or to direct marketing at any time.
  • Rights relating to automated decision-making: we do not make solely automated decisions that significantly affect you.

If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.

  • Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the ICO
  • Binding corporate rules or equivalent mechanisms

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email.

We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of our website after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of those changes.
